Brendan's Introduction

IS THIS THING ON?

Hi, I’m Brendan one of your friendly neighborhood PhoneNet Moderators!

I… have too many phones for my own good.

As of the time of writing, I’ve got the following phones deployed:

  • Yealink SIP-T46S (deployed at my brother’s place)
  • Yealink SIP-T58A (affectionately called “birb phone” - context here), in my office
  • Yealink SIP-T53, deployed at my partner’s desk
  • 2x Snom M25 DECT handsets paired to a Snom M300 base which itself is in my office (apparently one of the phone’s is out of juice – whoops!)
  • A Cisco IP Phone 8841, in my office (of which, I’m trying to tunnel into Shaun’s network as part of testing alternate means of VoIP phones talking to PhoneNet
  • A Cisco IP Phone 8945, in my office
  • A Cisco IP Phone 7961, currently disconnected in favour of the 8945 (space constraints)
  • 2x Cisco IP Phone 7940’s, only one of which appears to work enough to provision to PhoneNet but has a cooked stand, the other’s stand is good but I can’t seem to get it to allow me to factory reset

I believe I have some Yealink DECT equipment kicking around but I never bothered to deploy it since moving house. Can’t remember the handset model nor the base I used sadly.

anyways…

Hello Internet! As of 2025-09-02, I’ve both gotten slightly older AND have become the “proud” owner of a Cisco IP Phone 8851.
