I am pleased to announce that complimentary access to the Australian PSTN is now available for PhoneNet users (hosted lines only). To dial out you need to hit 0 for an outside line followed by the full number including the area code.
Due to their cost, 13 and 1300 numbers are not available however you can dial landlines, mobiles, and free call numbers. We only have a limited number of circuits available for this service and in periods of high demand you may need to try your call again later.
There is a quota in place which we will tweak over time. Once you have hit your monthly quota you will be unable to place calls until the first day of the new month. 1800 calls do not count towards your quota. This quota is shared with North American PSTN access and any future destinations we add to the complimentary PSTN access.
Like the North American PSTN access we reserve the right to restrict new users from accessing this service at our discretion until we’ve gotten to know them. If you have a BYOT (“Bring Your Own Trunk”) in place, your calls will continue to route over your own trunk.
Any abuse of this service will result in the permanent removal of your PSTN access and potential termination of your PhoneNet services so play nice.
